The makiwara is a wooden post with padding that is used as a training tool in traditional karate. Practising on the Makiwara allows you to develop punching power by experiencing real resistance for your Zuki, Uchi and Uke (with fist, open hand and elbow). (Instructions: Requires 2x3 holes in a stable base for 14mm dowels).
