The classic bokken is made of solid red oak and weighs between 500 and 600 g. The tsuba (hand guard) and the tsuba holder are included in the delivery. The blade has a narrow profile. The centre of gravity is slightly closer to the handle.
There is a matching saya (sword sheath made of plastic) to protect the wooden sword and for realistic sword drawing practice.
This wooden sword is made of very strong and stable wood.
The bokken is a traditional Japanese wooden sword which is very suitable for training instead of the katakana.
