Oar - Ekku von Kamikaze
The high quality Oar by Kamikaze are made of heavy oak wood.
Best workmanship
OAR (EKU, EIKU) KAMIKAZE is handmade in the EU.
163 cm / approx. 5 '4 "
The Eccu is treated with wood impregnant and insecticide varnish that leaves no film on the wood. This allows the Eku to move without any bumps.
He does not cling to his hands and feels very smooth.
Dimensions: wide 8.6 cm x long 163 cm. Handle diameter about 2.9 cm.
The Okinawa style of the rudder is called Eku (this actually refers to the local wood most commonly used for oars), Eiku, Iyeku or Ieku. Remarkable trademarks are the slight tip at the top, the bend to one side of the paddle and a roof-like ridge along the other. One of the main features of this weapon is the fact that a fisherman fighting on the beach is able to throw sand at opponents. Although they do not have the length and thus the range of the Bo, the right sharp edges can cause more penetrating damage when used properly. The Eku techniques are the same as those of the Bos - but it takes much more skill for the wrist to spin to use the right part of the weapon.
