Poster of the first form in WingTsun, the Siu-Nim-Tau or small idea form. The basics of WingTsun are practised here. As a beginner, you learn the form in small parts right from the start. But even advanced WT practitioners return to this form again and again.

Poster of the second form in WingTsun, the Chum-Kiu or searching the arms. Here you practise searching for the opponent s arms to make contact. While you stand the whole time in the Siu-Nim-Tau, you learn part of the WingTsun step work in the Chum-Kiu. This form, which is divided into four parts, is taught to students from intermediate level upwards.

Some examples of the application of techniques from the forms are shown here. Only those who have learnt the applications of the techniques can use the knowledge gained from the forms in combat.
